PTI Sticks to October 4 March as Talks Remain Deadlocked
PTI has maintained its plan for an October 4 long march to Islamabad, despite an ongoing political deadlock with the government and renewed calls for negotiations.
PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja rejected reports that the earlier postponement was the result of backchannel negotiations. He said the delay was intended to give the government additional time to reconsider its position, while PTI continues to demand the release of Imran Khan and what it describes as constitutional supremacy.
Raja also called for dialogue between political forces amid the country’s security challenges. According to PTI sources cited in the report, contacts between party leaders and authorities have continued, but no agreement has been reached.
The government has reportedly sought cancellation of the march before formal negotiations, while PTI has demanded tangible relief before withdrawing its protest plans.
Meanwhile, the opposition alliance TTAP formally endorsed the October 4 march. Its leaders said the protest should also address broader political, constitutional, provincial and economic issues across Pakistan.
